Dating back from 100 BC to 300 AD, Roman Centurion Helmets were worn by the main officers of the Ancient Imperial Roman Army. The name ‘Centurion’ was derived from each charge consisting of 100 men. Aside from allowing easy identification of Centurion Generals, the plumed helms colour variation specified officer rank and at times depict different units. Generals were also more visible to their men, the added height further suggesting higher command.
Vintage World Australia’s Roman Centurion helmet features sturdy, 18 and 20 gauge polished steel with brass ornamentation, linen inner padding, and a leather suspension liner and seven-hole, adjustable chin strap. This finely handcrafted helmet is wearable as a costume for re-enactments, Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) or just for fun. If you’d prefer to keep it on display, it comes with a recycled and treated mango wooden stand.
